Matriculation Ceremony

Meaning:

The official ceremony where newly admitted students are formally accepted into the university.

Purpose:

  1. Welcome new students
  2. Administer matriculation oath
  3. Introduce university rules and culture

Who Attends:

  1. New students
  2. Vice Chancellor / Rector
  3. Deans & HODs
  4. Parents & guardians

Activities Include:

  1. Academic procession
  2. Opening prayer
  3. Welcome speech by VC
  4. Matriculation oath
  5. Signing of matriculation register

When It Happens:

Usually at the beginning of the academic session.
